A friend of mine asked me if I can recommend a simple music editing program. I personally use Sony Acid, & Adobe Audition but nothing is simple about it & not cheap either. Is there anything out there that is cheap or free that works well gang for the average person who wants to muck around with editing some music etc. Thanks.

Goldwave is great .... been using it since Windows 95 days and it's still my editor of choice. The sister product Multiquence is also good for putting megamixes together. Both programs are simple to use and not full of bloatware like some others.

$49.00 here: www.goldwave.com

Have used Goldwave for years. Can't fault it. Not free, bu not expensive either (can't remember the cost at this stage!). Can handle MP3's, WAV, etc. I find it a good all-rounder. To be honest, I havn't tried any of the freeware products out there...

If you come to any overall conclusions at the end of your search, please post back - I'd be interested in your feedback/findings ;-)
