Hi, just worndering. is it possible to map a knob possibly to select thru effects? thanks ! :) |

Yes, map it to effect select And map a button (Or knob press if it supports it) to: effect active http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript_verbs.html |

right. it will open a new menu from which I have to use the mouse to select an effect. It would be much better if I could just set a knob to toggle thru the effects... what i mean is that, if there's a list of effects like there is, it would be nice to just be able to toggle thru the effects by moving the knob until i reach the one i want then I would just hit anothe key to activate that effect... thanks. |

You need to map it to an endless encoder knob (One with no stopping points.) If the controller is not natively supported (Which one are you using?) then you will need to make a definition file for it to work correctly: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/ControllerDefinitionMIDI.html (Simple MIDI wrapper only supports basic buttons, min/max knob and sliders.) Or you can map a couple of buttons to select next/previous effect, e.g: effect select +1 effect select -1 |

ah I think I got it. so in order for it to work like I want it must be an endless knob.. Im using the X-session pro.. so I can try buttons to select +1 -1 but like this I will be using keys that I wanted to use for the video functions. Im sure ill figure something out. thank u, u r good help =) |
