OK, I've been using VDJ for a long time and I have a bizzare problem. I recently upgraded my Dell Inspirion 1521 laptop to Windows 7 64 bit. I reinstalled all of the latest software and drivers, however, I have no sound coming from the RMX. The controller works and I have sound from the laptop sound card. I reinstalled the firmware and VDJ. I tried everything that I know to get it to work, but I am having no success.

Has anybody tried Windows 7 64 Bit with the RMX? If so, do you have any ideas on what could be the problem?

Is the Rmx installed correctly , as described in this document:

http://ts.hercules.com/faqs/eng/her_eng_00350.pdf

Does the Rmx soundcard works outside of VDJ, with something like Windows Media player or iTunes ?

Yes, when I use Media Player, it works fine. However, when I start VDJ, it knocks out the sound on my laptop. However, when I restart my computer, I can play my windws media player.

What do you think is going on?

Can you post a screen shot of your sound settings for us?

If the Rmx can be use like a normal soundcard , they the problem is most likely with VDJ. Sounds like:

a) The audio configuration in VDJ is not setup properly. It should be:

- Input : None

- Output(s): Headphone

-Soundcard: DJ Console RMX > Apply EQ on external source

b) if you set it that way AND every time you launch VDJ it defaults to your onboard soundcard, it could be that the configuration file is not being save, possibly because it is in read only, or your are not an administrator mode.

OK I finally got it to work. I had to change the sound card to 4.1 and it is working. Also, I had to restart my computer. The DMX option does not work for some reason. However, it used to work in Vista SP2. This is strange.

I played around with it for a while, but it is not stable. I was doing some scratching to see how it handled it, but the RMX just blanked out on its own. I closed the program, unplugged and then plug the RMX back into my laptop and could not get any sound. So, I restarted my laptop and got it to work again. There is definitely a conflict in the software driver.

Thanks,
