I mentioned in another thread that I was looking into the possibility of implementing Milkdrop within VDJ as a plugin. I've had a quick look at this and it's quite an undertaking to implement fully! Anyway, after some experimenting I have Milkdrop rendering in VDJ natively - no need for the milkdrop DLL or any other player. It's also responding to VDJ sound, and plays well with the video transitions so far. The bad news? Some presets seem to break it's ability to render properly - I'm trying to see if there is a pattern and if it's a problem with my adaptations to Milkdrops rendering code. I'm also not sure what Milkdrop is "hearing" from VirtualDJ so I'll definately have to look into that ;) Looks like Milkdrop is very possible though - I'll be glad to be able to move on from Sonique. I need something that's a viable alternative :) Don't bother asking for timescales and so on - I don't have any as yet, but thought people would appreciate knowing it's being worked on. |

sounds great scott, me to on the old sonique plugin great when we first got it but now well past it's sell by date.... |
Sound good man, you have my complete support! Sonique is a dead software and no one create a new sonique visualization. milkdrop release more new fx every week! Milkdrop was present in old Atomix MP3, it's time to come back ;) |
I wonder why it wasn't ported by the dev team? I'd be much more confident in their ability to port it! That said, I've had it running in VDJ for the last few hours without incident :) |
well i do hope you have success with your milkdrop plugin, i'll be looking foreward to it :) |
I used the plugin live at a gig Saturday night without incident. It still needs some cleaning up, and some controls adding in but it's looking good :) |

Hey, Hey Good news The Best Of Success To Yah Joey.... |
Try R4 also http://www.rabidhamster.org/R4/ |
I used R4 for a few years, Its also where I got the video layering idea that was later added to VDJ. |
The problem with R4 is that it's a standalone closed-source program; the user would have to get audio to it, and then I'd have to capture the window. It's a messy solution :( |
i want to see what people are writing - LOL :) |
Looking forward to this :-) |
Guys, i would like to experiment. How do I implement it? |
Plugins are only available to licensed pro users - and this plugin is in closed beta. |
Well if you are in need of additional testers, I am available. =) |

unfortunately you won't be able to benefit from this plugin unless you register or buy the software. on a side note Scott, will this work with version 5.2 |

tayla wrote : on a side note Scott, will this work with version 5.2 Yup, v5 is not a problem. |
