Are there any outfits that either specialize in or have good selections of DJ-ready downloads of the older stuff like this, as opposed to the latest (not necessarily greatest)? Or will I be doomed to buying and ripping what has been released on DVD?

Itunes has a ton of older videos, just make sure they are the I Tunes Plus videos and u will be good to go.

Promo Only probably has one of the biggest collections available for 70s & 80s but you will have to rip them from the DVDs.

I bought this collection about 1 year ago, It's NOT cheap but it will give you lot classic videos.
