Hi Guys,

I'm trying to broadcast my music for the first time and I need help.

The address provided in VDJ does not work when I try to go on it and listen simultaneously.

What did I miss ?

Hy DJTeKslave,

do you mean, when you use "Broadcast from your own computer", and you type the given Broadcast Adress http://123.456.789.000:8000/VitualDJ.mp3, into (for example) Winamp?
And then there is no connection or music playing?

When yes, you must enable your computer (IP-Adresse) at your router. Port 8000

See you

Hi DJTeKslave,

You've missed one of three things;

1. If you're attempting to connect to the stream from another computer on the LOCAL network, you'll need to connect using its local IP address, and NOT the public address (VDJ will always display the PUBLIC IP address). Local IP's typically look like 10.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x, so you might need to connect using perhaps http://192.168.0.1:8000 rather than the address (PUBLIC) given by VDJ.

2. If you're attempting to connect to the stream from outside your local network, the problem is most probably port forwarding. As your VDJ computer is most probably using NAT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_address_translation), you need to tell your router that packets received that are addressed to port 8000 need to be sent to the VDJ computer's local address. See www.portforward.com for instructions on achieving this.

3. Firewall software is blocking the connection. Try temporarily disabling the firewall and try again, if you're successful, activate the firewall and commence troubleshooting!

Also as a tip I wouldn't recommend broadcasting at any more than 128kbps unless you have a super fast computer and network link speed!

Good Luck! =Þ
