Topic: Non VDJ related query - perculiar problems with MP3 files.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

OK so I have downloaded (legitimatley) some MP3 files from the net - they play OK in media player & VDJ however when I attempt to burn one of them onto a CD to have in my car the track suddenly goes from 4m35s toabout 16m22s long!!!???
The track burns OK to CD and plays but after the track ends at 4m35s there is just 11 minutes of nothing!? Silence!?
Any ideas!?... The file itself is 5.56MB, not protected (apparently!) & a bit rate of 256

Many thanks friends,

Phil

Might be a hardware issue with your burner....

Try burning the CD's on the lowest rate possible, I use x8 and I find Nero does a good job.

If your software accepts drag n drop, try to observe the length of the song that you said faulty. If its way more than (x3 or more) what you expected then it should be something to do with the way the song has been ripped.

I've encountered this kind of problems when burning in many occasions. What I did is momentarily re-encoded the track to a CBR and at the lower bit rate (192). Sometimes it solves the problem and sometimes not.
