Really cool DJ set. Easy to use and connect. 13 year old made some good music, unfortunately is already bored with it after a month. Interested in buying it from me let know! ;) I’ll sell it much cheaper. Still have box and unopened led wristbands

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Alright, to let you know where this review is coming from. I am a middle aged, out of shape man with all the music theory that a middleschool second chair trombonist has. But I also have a dream to make a Dubstep version of Michael Martin Murphy's wildfire. This is not a recent dream, but one that I have had for some time. Perhaps it was from the first time I heard Skrillex's "First of the Year," but definitely by the time I heard the dubstepped version of "Pumped up Kicks." I'm serious, I researched tools to do this, and I could not be happier when I got a chance to get this DJ controller. It does everything I was hoping to do with it. It can sample it can loop, it can bring down the bass to get hollowed out vocals, and the chance to solidly DROP THE BASS! The problem so far is that I can't do these things, but I'm learning.

This device does have a learning curve, although, fun can be had right out of the box. We set it up in about 20 minutes and had it pumping out some House/Trance hybrids in no time. We had a small rave with the kids grabbing the headphone and controls while the others watched, staring not dancing. We loved the lights, we loved playing with the wrist bands while I waited for my turn... That's where it went a little south. While I could make lots of interesting effects, I realized I have a long ways to go before dub stepping a little 70's gold. But I got DJing for Dummies, I've watched videos and it is coming along.

This is obviously more toy than profession here, but I am happy with the feature set. I would like there to be better jogs, and I can tell that it is limited in many ways, but holy crap it was exactly what I was hoping for. Inexpensive, feature rich enough for my needs, and most importantly fun. I will put up any resulting mix here when it comes together.

Rating it five stars based on the fun and affordable entry into DJing.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
it was fun to play around with, but the time it took to set up on the computer and figuring out the bracelets seemed to be longer than what we actually used it for. If you are a beginning DJ and looking to start your business on the cheaper side, this would be a help. For the average person, who is just looking for fun, this may not be worth the effort.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
First things first. I am almost a complete beginner when it comes to being a DJ, and I'm only .5% of where I want to be, in terms of being an actually DJ. But after using this controller for less than 7 hours total, I feel like I'm 26% of the way towards total mastery, mostly in thanks to the free tutorials they provide. Although I wish they had more in-depth tutorials, it serves as a great launching pad for anyone looking to enter the industry.

PROS:
Feature rich!
Free software!
FREE TUTORIALS!
Solid construction
Simple plug and play
8 cool LED wristbands to give to your cool friends ;)

CONS:
No dedicated mode buttons (I go into detail about this below.)
No visible way to stop the controller from flashing ever so brightly after 5 minutes of not touching it (because I'm too lazy to unplug the dang thing while I'm trying to watch YouTube...)

As for the free Djuced 40 software:
No option to change the text size. (So good luck if you have poor eyesight.)
Kinda weird and kinda unusable, lengthy, provided samples.

While this controller is great for beginners, it comes with some hiccups.
What I found to be a hindrance to any performance is that there isn't a different button for each mode. This means that in order to switch between the 4 modes, loop, FX, sample, and cue, you have to hold down the mode button and press 1 of the 4 corresponding pads.
Until 20 minutes ago I thought that the headphone buttons were useless and only toggled the sound on and off for the headphones. But to my surprise, and accidental luck, I found out that when it is toggled "on" on deck B and the crossfader is on deck A, deck A will play through the speakers and deck B will play through the headphones. Also, when the headphone button is "on," the volume fader and crossfader don't affect the volume of the headphones.

As for the features I wish it had:
A toggle slip button and a record button, which are in the software itself but are 10 times more useful on the controller itself.
A USB port to plug in a midi controller (With my current setup 5-8 feet from my actual computer, this would mean having 1 less 10 foot cable to trip over.)
4 more pads total, 2 on each side - I feel like only having 4 pads for each side limits just how well one can utilize the controller.

In summary - this controller is packed with features and for this price point it's probably the best one you can get.
It comes with its own software, which by itself I imagine costing a minimum of $50. It's also pretty easy to get the hang of.

Would I recommend this to a friend?
Probably not any of my friends, specifically, but if I knew a guy that wanted to break into the scene, I would tell him that this is a good place to start.

Also on the djuced website under products, if you click on djuced 40 it will show you all the features of the program. (Also, near the bottom of the page you will see the links to the free tutorials on how to use the instinct P8 specifically.)
